Orbit5.1 - Interview with Derek Sivers
This episode rated PG-13. Send your complaints here. Sorry about the technical issues, if you had any, with Episode 5. Apparently, some aggregators looked right past the 50-minute MP3 and thought the link to the Groove Salad stream was this week’s podcast. Sorry, Groove Salad, no linkie for you.
Podsafe Music:
- High Orbit Exclusive: Nashville rocker Peter Moon handed me a brand new tune that’s making waves on his native planet. Technically it’s called A Girl Like That, but most people know it as The Moonpie Song.
- Interview: I’m pleased to welcome none other than Derek Sivers, founder of CD Baby, to the show. Skyping in from the new test facility on Mars, Derek talks about everything from the origins of CD Baby to the future of music to… hairstyles? Yup, hairstyles like this one:

Hi Matthew;
I’ll “second” what Rob said. The interview with Derek Sivers was wonderful. My niece has a listing over there. She studied “voice” at Manhattan School of Music. Check her out, she’s at http://www.michellegold.com My podcast is at http://www.emb.libsyn.com and is known as Ed’s Mixed Bag. Does “High Orbit” have a promo?

Matthew,
Great, great interview with Derek Sivers. I didn’t realize you had a podcast until you played one of the Avebury Records’ bands (Battery Life) on Orbit 7, but I’m now subscribed and have been working my way through your shows. This one was most enjoyable!
Best of luck with Beer and Coffee.
