1. Distinguished Guests: Laura Clapp joins the crew this week, co-hosting from the bridge of the UTF revolution. Half the songs this episode have been picked out by her, so we’ve got a little female perspective on the playlist this week.
2. A Word From Dick Clark: As the legendary Dick Clark once said (and as I already quoted once on this show), “Protect your ass at all times.” This doesn’t just mean keeping your contracts in order, it means taking care of your business. If you’re going to have a band website, make sure you get all the notices and whatnot for it.
   When I design websites for bands, I make them register the domain name and the hosting service with their own credit card and their own contact info. That way, when it’s about to expire, THEY get the email notice, not me. It’s not my house, I’m just the interior decorator.
   And one piece of advice from a cost-saving perspective: register your domain for a decade. It’s not that much of an up-front expense, it’ll save you money over the years, and you won’t have to worry about renewing until your band has either exploded into the spotlight or collapsed like a dying star.
