Get Your Music on High Orbit

Submit Your Songs

We’re always looking for new music up here on the UTF Revolution. If you’ve got something you think we’d love to hear, by all means let us know! Just follow a few simple guidelines:

  • You (or the band/artist you’re referring us to) must own the rights to the recording. This usually means no major-label stuff, and definitely no covers unless you’ve got written permission from the coypright holders.
  • Typically, we’re looking for performance-oriented music as opposed to electronica, experimental, or anything else you wouldn’t see live onstage. We also like to showcase unique production techniques or pieces of gear (vintage synths, odd intruments, etc.). Live recordings are the highest priority, if they’re decent recordings. Even if your music doesn’t fit in to this description, though, we’ll still listen to anything you throw at us.
  • Don’t send MP3’s via email. Seriously. If you send us a multi-megabyte file that we didn’t ask for, it’s just going to clog up the mail system and make the server droid mad. Post a link to the MP3 file or someplace we can hear it online, or just ask first.
  • Make sure you’ve got your ID3 tags set! If we get an MP3 that shows up in iTunes as “Unknown Album, Unknown Artist, Track 01,” it’s as good as lost. We’ve got thousands of tunes up here on the ship, make sure we can find yours once we get it!

If you want to point us towards your song file (or towards a band/artist that you like), just drop us a line here.

Get Your Album Reviewed

If you’re looking for more than just a little podplay, send us a disc and we’ll consider your album for a review epsiode. Since an album is more than just a collection of tracks, we’ll need the full CD package (not just a link where we can download the songs).

Not every CD will get reviewed on the show, but we’ll certainly give it a listen and let you know what we think. Just email us and we’ll tell you where to send your album.
